Monday!

Monday was the marking of a full week of us being in New York!  We started out the day be cleaning the apartment and doing laundry and getting ready to leave to go to Palmyra.  Once we were done with that, we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  It was so interesting.  There are over 1.5 million square feet of exhibits and it is all amazing.  The different thing about this museum was there there are only two floors, but they are huge!  We went through it very fast because we still had a 6 hour drive to get to Palmyra, but we got al see a lot of it.  Here are some of the pictures we got.

This is the main entrance to the Museum.

This was the only official sign that we could find that had the full name of the Museum

This tree had an amazing manger scene below it.  All made from stone with great detail. (You weren't supposed to take pictures of it)

This was Hyrum's favorite piece in the whole museum, of course.

A miniature sculpture of the famous statue, The Thinker, by Auguste Rodin.

This is the original Qur'an!!

In the armors and arms section of the museum.

Tile Mural with a water fountain.  Very pretty

It is a Sphinx!

This is in the room with the Temple of Dendur

This was the sunset on the drive to Palmyra (Victor actually) it was a very pretty ride.

We got to the hotel late, so they saved us some food!  It was very good after the long drive!

More about Tuesday is coming, have to get all the pictures and stuff on the computer.  It is 2012!!!
